Hello from Perú! For those of you in the United States I hope you have enjoyed your summer! Here in Perú we are finishing up with our cold weather as it is starting to warm up. We are looking forward to some warmer weather, although it doesn’t really get very cold here.

It is exciting for me to currently have Risha here in Perú with me! Here is an update from her:
This July, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on a week-long medical missions trip to the mountains of Perú! I translated for the team that came down from North Carolina. It was a huge encouragement meeting and working with the team and translators. Many of them had testimonies that were eye-opening and convicting to me. I worked alongside a young girl that had cerebral palsy along with other health issues, but she was one of the most joyful people I had ever met. I worked with a recently widowed elderly man and a sweet lady that had survived cancer. It was a much-needed reminder that I need to make less excuses, and be completely willing to serve God however He wants to use me. When we as Christians do those hard things, despite the trials or difficulties, we can shine as testimonies of Christ to others and be an encouragement at the same time.
For the first time in my life, I translated the Gospel presentation for large groups of people and watched as God saved person after person. It was the most rewarding feeling. God reminded me through this trip that He does not need me; but if I am willing, He will allow me to help make an impact for eternity. What an incredible privilege to learn more about God’s power, watch lives get transformed, and be a part of something that has eternal value!

Please continue to pray for our church. We are having a Special Breakfast event before our service this Sunday morning which will focus on everyone inviting new people to visit our church. It looks like we will have a good group!

Please continue to pray for God’s direction in our ministries. I feel that God is leading me to make some changes in our missions work. I have been looking at some different options and will keep you updated!
We thank the Lord for all of you and your faithfulness in praying for us!Rick Anderson
