Kathy's Obituary

November 2020
Dear Friends and Family,

Kathy's Picture

Kathy is with her Savior! Kathy passed away Wednesday, October 28th. Each one of our daughters, her mom and dad and her sister Becky had a chance to be with her that day before she went home. The rest of her brothers were able to visit very recently also. We are so glad that we have all been together during this. God is good! Please pray for our family during this time. It is a time of celebration but also of loss and mourning.

A friend of ours shared this verse with us that morning: 1 Peter 5:10

"But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you."

Our daughter Jansie wrote Kathy’s obituary and I would like to share it with you:

Debora Kathleen Anderson Pace (Kathy), age 51, went home to her Savior on October 28, 2020. Her final months were spent surrounded by family and friends who loved her greatly.

Kathy was born on November 19, 1968 in Peru, South America to missionaries Tom and Carolyn Pace. From a young age, Kathy placed her trust and faith in the saving love of Jesus Christ. Her childhood years were full of adventures, a loving family, and many opportunities to serve God.

She graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in Missions. The summer after graduation, she met Rick Anderson at a Bible study in New Mexico. She immediately noticed him as the sweet, quiet guy with dimples. Rick and Kathy fell in love and were married in 1993. They lived together in Pensacola, Florida for several years.

Rick and Kathy, along with their daughters Janise, Krista, Raeya, and Risha, went to Peru as missionaries in 2004. For the next decade and a half, Kathy served alongside Rick in several church ministries and in La Molina Christian Schools (LMCS). Over the years, Kathy led Bible studies, taught at LMCS, actively served at church, and led the Mastering Motherhood group.

Above all, she desired to honor God with her life and show His love to everyone around her. She poured her time and love into her family. Kathy trusted in God’s sovereign plan throughout her recent battle with colon cancer.

She is survived by her husband Rick Anderson, her daughters Janise, Krista, Raeya, and Risha, her parents Tom and Carolyn Pace, her sister Becky, her brothers Steve, Andy, and Abe, and many loved nephews, nieces, and relatives.

Kathy’s memorial service was live streamed and is available on Burgess Road Baptist Church’s facebook page:
